How to Choose Your CBD Dosage
1. Estimate your dosage based on your body weight
As with most substances, individuals with more body mass will require more CBD to experience its effects. A good rule of thumb to determine your proper CBD dosage is to take 1–6MG of CBD for every 10 pounds of body weight based on the individual’s level of pain.
For example, 20MG-33MG would be a great starting dosage for a 200 lb patient, while 15MG-25MG would be best for another who weighs 150 lb.
2. Start small and increase gradually
Everyone’s body type is unique. Not only are we all made differently, we each have our own unique history with the use of substances, medications, supplements, and other things we put in our body. Because of this, we all have different body chemistry, and this will affect how our body reacts to CBD. Therefore, it is important to first determine your initial dosage based on your weight, gauge how your body reacted to that amount of CBD, then increase gradually while continuing to monitor your body’s reactions till you find the perfect dosage that works for your situation.
3. Consult your physician
When in doubt, consult your physician, especially if you have an existing medical condition. While there aren’t a ton of doctors who have experience with CBD, most doctors should have a good idea on how your body will react to CBD and can provide you a professional CBD dosage for your situation.
How do you accurately measure your CBD dosage?
Using a CBD tincture is one of the easiest ways to consume CBD. Simply fill the dropper, administer the oil under your tongue, then hold it there for 30 to 90 seconds before swallowing.
Being that the dropper is the tool we use to administer a CBD tincture, we need to find out how much CBD is in a single dropper. Once you know this, you can gauge how much CBD you’re taking.
Typically a dropper holds 1 ML of liquid. If you know how many milliliters are in a CBD tincture, you can use this simple formula to determine how much CBD is in its dropper:[Total CBD in Bottle] ÷[Number of Millileters in Bottle] = MGs of CBD in a Dropper
Here is a breakdown of the tinctures that we sell per mg strength:
- 250mg per 1oz/30ml (250 ÷30 = 8.3mg of CBD per dropper)
- 500mg per 1oz/30ml (500÷30 = 16.7mg CBD per dropper)
- 1000mg per 1oz/30ml (1000 ÷30 = 33.3mg CBD per dropper)
- 1,500mg per 1oz/30ml (1,500 ÷30 = 50mg CBD per dropper)
If you’re proper dosage of CBD is 25MG, and a single dropper of that 1500MG tincture contains 50MG, you’d simply fill the dropper halfway.
This method isn’t 100% accurate, but it is more accurate than not measuring at all. Remember, start with a small dosage and gradually increase until you find your perfect dosage.
By empowering yourself, you are responsible for and education into your own hands and sound it out with yourself. The good thing is, you cannot go wrong with CBD, especially when it has no dangerous side effects. Start slowly to find an optimal dosage basis for Anxiety
A gradual dosage starting with a small dose is ideal to find your individual CBD dosage base. Because there are always reports from CBD users who have achieved good results and improved health with a small amount of CBD (MG), it is good to start with the smallest dose.
The smallest dose should be 2-5 mg CBD per dose 3 times a day. It’s advisable to start with it. Maintain this dosage for 1 week. After this week, if necessary, increase the dose to 4-10 mg CBD per dose 3 times a day.
There are reports where people need only a 20 mg CBD dose or more to be effective against their anxiety. On the other hand, there are also those who have used too much CBD and thus have not improved their Anxiety conditions. In some cases, it felt even worse subjectively. After reducing the amount of CBD, CBD was able to counteract anxiety. It is therefore not advisable to use a large amount of CBD right at the beginning, as anxiety conditions require a precise evaluation in order to be effective.
Basic guidance for the dosage of CBDThe following table gives a general indication of the dosage of CBD. The information provided is based on weight and the Condition Range (Mild to Severe) of intended treatment. However, this information is only a rough guide. There are individuals who use CBD for a certain clinical picture successfully at much higher doses. Anxiety conditions have generally been treated successfully with a smaller dose.
Different CBD application methods are to be considered
Since you can take CBD in different forms, this must also be taken into account in the dosage. The bioavailability, how long it takes for CBD to take effect, and how long the effect lasts, also depends on the type of CBD product you are using. The bioavailability describes how much of the CBD the body can actually put into action.
